I'm standing up for Solar because the energy distributor in my area (Singapore Power owned Ausnet Services) penalises its customers for installing solar, in part to avoid the need to upgrade its aging infrastructure to return energy to the grid. I investigated going solar PV to help the planet but, if I did, my weekday kWh power cost would have gone up 26% (when taken off my flat rate and put on their absurd 07:00-23:00 Mon-Fri "peak period") then charged $ hundreds to reconnect to the grid for a click a virtual switch. The privatisation of Victoria's energy industry is a consumer and environmental disaster.

Who gets my next election vote is contingent on taking climate change and the renewables sector (which is the new industrial revolution on which Australia is missing out due to Coal-ition governments) seriously.
